UNDER THIS PALE MOON - Mary Bo

Mary Bo was born in the town of Laç (Albania) where she grew up and was educated as a violinist and flutist in general education. Mary has lived in Athens (Greece) for many years. She is the author of two books of poetry: "One of the Poems" and "The Secrets of the Spirit", published by the Publishing House "The Poetry Club".

UNDER THIS PALE MOON

Some smiling beams fell

from the silver of the glittering Moon

onto the sea waves

and I filled a few fistfuls

to wash my eyes sleepy of weariness.

Under the magic of the gently foaming waves,

I had a vision of harbored ships,

stuck on mountain configurations.

In their silhouettes

which were falling upon my shoulders

I had dreams of eye-blurring days

with your image amid them.

You wished the world were the same for everyone

for you as well,

in spite of not being there in person.

...In the meanwhile, the sky does nothing but smile

and the Universe wears hearty fragrances

and multi-hued colors of jewels.

Don't you worry, though, in your seclusion!

There always remain

ancient songs

and flowers,

withered scentless.

Wherever you are, may you find

amazon-fased women

and crystal-clear loves

like this one of mine,

although mine

has already

found another womb!

I am now leaving,

as is this pale Moon

which spent all her gold

on me, on you...
